Clyde Pathways to work condition management programme
There are many Pathways to work condition management schemes across the country. The project for Clyde, is among the oldest and has had a chance to mature into a really successful project.
As the project managers comment, there are few stronger hazards to health than claiming benefits - people easily find themselves losing purpose and self-respect - which in turn makes getting back into work seem like an impossible hurdle. This scheme breaks the cycle by offering a six month respite in which people receive counselling alone or in groups, get advice, further referrals and the chance to participate in walking or exercise activities.
Who runs this kind of project?
Pathways to work projects are run by a variety of public sector and charity organisations across the country.
