Nurses network
If you have an interest in integrated health, or practise it, register with us.
We would like to send nurses with an interest in integrated health regular newsletters and communication updates on specific complementary therapies.
There are just three criteria for signing up:
- A willingness to discuss or suggest complementary therapies, where they are appropriate, safe and effective.
- An emphasis on treating the whole patient and not just the symptom, recognising the importance of the therapeutic relationship between patient and clinician.
- A focus on self help and personal health with an appreciation of the role of the patient /client in his/her own healing.
You do not have to be an expert in any of these areas or even practise them. All we are looking for are nurses with an interest in these areas of care and who support the aspirations of the Foundation.
During 2009 the Foundation will be developing three streams of work to support and enable nurses and other clinicians who are interested in and are practising integrated health and care.
Firstly, we will be looking at education and plan to develop a course for nurses wanting to know more about complementary medicine and whole person medicine. We will also be looking at educational opportunities abroad.
Secondly, we foresee FIH becoming a centre of information for nurses and other health professionals on complementary medicine research, the various therapies and therapists according to where you practise.
The third strand will be about providing support to clinicians practising integrated health and care and ensuring that we support health providers through the introduction of a Foundation Kitemark which will distinguish those providers / practices providing integrated health and care to their patients.
